Description
At the age of 19, William Chong left Kingston, Jamaica, on the Empire Windrush. He arrived at Tilbury Docks, England on 22nd June 1948 and then settled in Nottingham. His story, told here, is interwoven with historical facts from the Caribbean community, the rejection, discrimination, employment and housing issues of the time. Willim received a Special Lifetime Windrush Award in recognition of his work in the community and in Nottingham Schools. 154pp, A4 format
