Description
Cardinal Thomas Wolsey spent the last summer of his life in 1530 at the Archbishop’s Palace in Southwell. The author has used his imagination to create the sort of letters Wolsey might have written to Thomas Cromwell during his brief residence in Southwell, though he acknowledges the style and wording are not of the period. The dates, however, are correct and the author has adhered as far as possible to the known facts, bringing into focus Wolsey’s life at this critical time for him. 82pp illus.
