Description
Alfred John Thraves is now largely forgotten, but in the first half of the 20th century he was a prominent architect, primarily practising around Nottingham, and probably best known at the time for designs of cinemas, theatre and car showrooms in a 2modern” style. In addition he built up a sizeable portfolio of commercial and residential projects. Whilst most of the former are now lost, there are still many of his house projects to be found through the suburbs of Nottingham. 100pp, illus.
