The Sharp End: Murder, Violence and Knife Crime on Nottingham's Thin Blue Line

Tom Andrews was a police officer with Nottinghamshire Police for thirteen years, his service being spent on the front-line within the boundaries of the city of Nottingham. Working as a 24/7 emergency response officer, a neighbourhood beat manager and then as part of Nottinghamshire Police's Knife Crime Team - the only such team outside of London - Tom lifts the lid on some of the darker, more interesting and more humorous sides of policing a provincial British city in the twenty-first century. This book offers a unique insight into a side of the city that not many get to experience - an almost unique account of modern front-line policing, only able to be published now Tom has left the police.  227pp
