Although coal mining in the East Midlands has ceased, the legacy of how the miners worked and communicated lives on.  The language used by miners in their daily lives cemented the relationship between them so the authors have gathered a section of Pit Talk words and phrases accompanied by definitions in the form of a glossary.  They have also recorded many miners’ recollections of times both above and below ground and some of these are included to give a flavour of what it was like to be a miner.  80pp, pocket size.
