This book is a summary of the detailed research and findings of a research project undertaken by members of the Southwell Community Archaeology Group.  The project developed out of a study of Vernacular Buildings done in 2013 which led to an interest in the medieval Saracen’s Head Hotel where remains of impressive late 16th – early 17th century wall paintings had been discovered in the 1980s and 1990s.  Only now have these been extensively photographed and subjected to some scientific analysis. 50pp, illus.
