Byron At Burgage Manor 1803-08 by Geoffrey Bond

Reprint from The Transactions of the Thoroton Society 2010.

During the years 1803-1808, Byron's mother, Catherine, rented Burgage Manor, Southwell. Geoffrey Bond, the present owner of the Manor, reflects in this article upon Burgage Manor in this period and on what is known about Byron's life at the time.

The booklet also contains an article by Stanley Chapman Burgage Manor: New Perspectives on Georgian Southwell, which looks at the nature of the building work that took place in the 18th and early 19th centuries in the town. 23pp, A4 format, illus.
